MindsEye is thrilled to welcome Emma Debany onto its directorial roster.
Emma is an LA-based director, writer, graphic designer and visual artist, specialising in the surreal, the irreverent, the darkly funny and the deliciously uncomfortable. Her work flips on its head what’s normal and what’s strange.
Trained as a Director’s Assistant on the Eric Andre Show, Emma caught the eye of festivals and brands alike with her absurd shorts – ‘Steve Kinkoes’ and the Adult Swim-produced ‘Couch’ – enjoying long festival runs and collecting a host of Vimeo Staff picks.
She made her directorial debut in the commercial world with a series of spots for Popsockets, and has since gone on to lend her unique voice to the likes of Jack in the Box, Totinos, Bet MGM and Mattel.
“From the moment I saw Emma’s work for Adult Swim, I knew that her sensibilities and ours would align perfectly,” says MindsEye CEO and founder, Hughie Phillips. “We both want to make irreverent, creative and visually jaw-dropping work. The weirder the better! We can’t wait to get started.”
